Today, I’ll try to sync a folder on my MacBook into my external HDD using automator and rsync utility. It’s so embarassing that I dont know where is Volumes folder located after mounting my external HDD. I know that the icon of my HDD is showed up on Desktop, but it doesnt actually there. It mounted into Volumes folder and it hidden somewhere.

So, after few minutes searching, I found the way to make Volumes folder visible.

  1. Open terminal window.
  2. Type sudo SetFile -a -v /Volumes
  3. Now, open Finder (Macintosh HD), and you should see the Volumes folder and all of the volume mounted on your Mac.
